Poetry Workshop with The Versemongers

The Versemongers is very excited to host a poetry workshop for closet poets across town. We are hoping to transcend boundaries across different art forms by working with our dear friend, Alia Kamal, a painter whose exhibition, “Excerpts”, is currently displayed at the venue: https://www.facebook.com/events/190828121812921/

We will start the workshop with a couple of warm-up exercises to get our muscles flexing and then write poems responding to paintings by Alia Kamal. A feedback and re-drafting session will follow. It will be a safe space where we will come together to learn from each other and develop our skills. Even if you have never written/shared your poetry before, this might be your chance to let your creative juices flow and hammer out a poem, and you might just surprise yourself!

Materials to bring: Notebook, pen, a brave heart, and an open mind 🙂
